Cincinnati, OH and Lexington, KY (fall 2017)

In between our assignments in Alabama we had a short stay in Cincinnati and then Lexington, KY in the fall of 2017.

Indian Springs Campground (Cincinnati)

Only 15 minutes from our family this stay was all about convenience. The park was small and crowded with itty bitty sites, but did boast a lovely lake with lots of web-footed friends and a shady hiking trail.

After some time to visit with family, we were moved to Lexington KY for a brief assignment.

Whispering Hills RV Park

A nice park with average sized lots, a swimming pool (not open for our fall stay), a small lake and jumping pillow. The kids had a lot of fun during the Halloween festivities which included trick or treat at the campground, a costume contest, and movie.

The real highlight of our stay in Lexington was visiting Salato Wildlife Education Center where we could see everything from snakes to bison to black bear.

I will always remember this time for when we officially signed the papers and bought our property in Indiana, formally ending our year of ‘homelessness.’ While we continued to travel after buying the property it was a relief to have a place to land in between assignments, a place where we don’t have to worry about rules or sewage dumps or available spots. Our own little piece of serenity.

  • Thanks for sharing! I came accross your blog in RV groups when we were full-timing, and we have since settled down in Ohio. We have enjoyed the tips about Ohio spots in recent posts!

    • Sorry I missed your comment Lisa! Always great to hear from fellow travelers. Glad our Ohio tips have proved useful- we’re just over the border- you picked a great state to settle in!
